Something I ran across yesterday,at the end of my shift:
20q. I can't access it here anymore, however. sometime between then and today it was blocked, for whatever reason.
The site is a 20 questions asking machine. It will guess what you're thinking of the majority of the time. honest. Although afterward, if it doesn't guess it, it accuses you of cheating, when you tell it what you were thinking of. This is pretty nifty, I think. I'll have to check it out when I can access it again - at home.
Also, another link I'm noting to myself -
Outsider - a 'first contact' style comic. I've checked it out before, and it's incredibly slow to update, but I'd lost the link - so here, self-at-home, check it out.
[Addenda]: Other things I have been meaning to hunt down and link:
Themepunks (link is to chapter 1) - a serialised story by Cory Doctorow published in Salon. This story has one hell of a hook: microcredit loans becoming big - in the US! It tracks the life of a slowly-becoming-celeb-blogger as she tracks a story about this microcredit loan company formed from the ashes of "Kodak/Duracell". The story is set in the near-future. all the technologies mentioned are (as far as I can tell) in the works. It's great stuff.
