Outstanding! One of the things I'm -- should I say "I" when I'm posting from the mod account? this is brightknightie -- looking forward to in this game is bringing together writers and readers from different generations of FK fandom. (Third-season newbie, meet SciFi-Channel newbie, meet DVD newbie, meet person-who-watched-the-original-airing-of-Nick-Knight.)

Somehow, I thought it might be you... ;)

I decided recently that I need to start meandering back into the FK fandom (I'm pretty sure that spending a friend's birthday party watching episodes on Hulu counts as a divine message), so this sounds like a fine way to do it. And I think that my writing abilities have improved enough since the last time I wrote FK fiction. *reads previous stories and cringes*

However, I've never participated in a challenge quite like this before. Will there eventually be examples of prompts for us to examine?

In theory, the user-pics reveal all. The "FK Fic Fest Mods" icon is official ficathon business, and could be either of us. The "One of Your Mods is a Knightie" icon is me, and the "One of Your Mods is a Natpacker" icon is amilyn.

We -- and now I'm speaking on behalf of the whole fandom; gosh, but I'm presumptuous! :-) -- shall be delighted to have you back more often. And don't cringe too much at your previous stories (we can discuss that off the ficathon, if you like).

Yes! For the sign-up post, in the spirit of FKFic-L Wars, I have concocted examples as if the characters were themselves playing in the ficathon.
