Took a day off and hung out with the gals (Grace / Em / Shengen). In retrospect I was really glad I took that day (see previous post) caz boy, I really had fun. (although, by dint of being there I've, once again, singlehandedly raised the average age bar. hmm.)
Our plans for the day: Blade, Ktv, Movie.
Then it rained, like torrential ok.. it was first sunny/hot, then it rained. Very strange, this. And Em had ktv'ed the previous night-today, so no K either. That put a stop to any outdoor activities of any kind, so off to Marina we went. Except -- holland bee chose that moment to strike once again -- and off we went to Robinson Road/Shenton way for a couple of spins before finally heading to Marina. Along the way we encountered the AMAZING AND EXTREMELY SCARY "PUDDLE OF DEATH", aka. a damn big puddle on the highway just before a turning. Some fool car just zoomed by and my windscreen was suddenly occupied by a whole body of water. I kid you not, no visual on road for like 5 seconds, with the turning coming up. (wipers, what are you doing?!) And 3 voices went "AHHHHHHHKKKK" while my own screamed loudest inside my head, haha. I slowed down while praying that there were no cars behind me and no wall in front of me while the water cleared. As can be seen we managed to get to Marina with no further mishaps, thank God.
Bought tix for Wild Hogs and managed to squeeze in a spot of shopping till the movie (we're gals! we shop! it's natural!) where we magically transformed from gals-who-survived-a-near-death-accident to super-power-bargaining-aunties (in training). Times 4. All I can say is, woe betide the shopgal/assistant that stood in our way as all gloves came off and bargaining commenced. Flush with our buys we went into the theatre. Wah super funny the movie. For me, at least, I LOLed through the thing ok.. and between laughs my mouth was full of popcorn and ruffles, YUM.
when we went out it was still drizzling, so we spent the rest of the time in Marina / Suntec. Actually from then on it was shopping and more shopping - but window shopping. Having sheathed our bargaining claws the gals decided to take it slow and go into BEBE to try on their stuff (trying only what. Free one leh). Took some photos for my personal collection (I realize this comment makes me sound like a pervie), come see me if you wanna check them out! (ok now that makes me sound like a pimp)
Then dinner at the food court where we saw the JP Morgan runners go (Siming you anywhere inside there?) where we talked of all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff. Nei de, anyone? And runners' muscle, haha. Aiya these gals. So funny one. Managed to sneak in a couple of last min buys for my lumix before we set off for home. That's - 12 hours in each other's company. Thoroughly enjoyable every one of em. Again!!
