Today is the day you will get into Press Gang.
What is Press Gang? It's this brilliant late 80's/early 90's British teen comedy/drama, written by Steven Moffat (new Doctor Who, Coupling). It's just funny and touching and deals with some srs topics in a wickedly lovely way.
I hesitate to call it children's television , even if it is, because people are prejudiced against children's television, even though Doctor Who is children's television and seems to do pretty nicely across the board. This is definitely the kind of television that doesn't pander to children.
AND IT'S JUST SO FUNNY AND CHARMING AND ADDICTIVE and everybody needs to watch it now.
Look, most of it's on youtube! Couldn't make this easier for you. I personally fell in love within 10 minutes of it, your mileage may vary of course but do give it a go! And once you go nuts for it, you can buy the Region 2 DVD set which have fanzines and are rather cheap and just really worth it.
And there's an awesome, awesome het OTP who have bicker and stay awesome when they get together and are in my top VERY SMALL NUMBER HERE of OTPs alltime.
This show is just so charming. Oh and I made a fanvid for its OTP which is kind of half-assed but I still like it.
