What tickles my fancy right now? Out of nowhere PRESS GANG PICSPAM.

Click on the cut. You know you want to.

Press Gang is a British teen/children's show written by - as the picture says, Steven Moffat whose responsible for all kinds of coolness on Coupling and Jokes Apart and Dr Who. Yeah, that guy. It ran on British TV for 5 series in 1989 to ..1993 if I recall correctly. Early 90's ftw!

It tells a story of some kids who run a newspaper called The Junior Gazette, under the proper newspaper "The Gazette". And while "children's show" may scare you off, strap yourself the fuck back down because this is a damn good, fun show. Stay. Listen to me.

Two of the most central main characters are Spike, the awesome American school delinquent, and Lynda, the paper's demanding, competent editor. As you can imagine, they bicker, and love each other, and are one of the bestest OTPs anywhere ever.

Then there's Kenny, Lynda's long-suffering best friend and assistant editor. Kenny is amazing, and that's all you need to know.

Then there's the high-roller businessman Colin, the paper's financial manager.

...aaand a bunch of other characters, some awesome, some slightly less so. Whatever, so what's it all about?

It's about glamorous nostalgic fashion..

..and awesome romance..

..comedic hijinks..

...newspaper reporting business (and again, glamorous fashion)..

..soul-tearing angst..

..high-powered modern technology..

..and again, amazing fashion.

But seriously check it out, it's so much fun.

Trust Colin, it is!

If you have me friended, check out this post. If you want to see some of the show, this youtube user has some episodes up. I'm not sure if I'd recommend any of them as a first episode since I think 1x05 A Night In or 1x01 might be the best episode as the first one but The Rest of My Life is an amazingly tragic/emotional episode from S2, Shouldn't I Be Taller is the last episode of S1, Monday/Tuesday is the second-to-last episode of S1 (both are good ones but rather dramatic) and Going Back to Jasper's Street is merely okay in my books.
