Sometimes there's images in your head that are compelling enough that you can't help but wish they were on paper. List any of your fanfics and describe the scene or image you wish you could have a picture of.
teardrop for another day - The fic too angsty for its own good, but I still like the image of Lulu as a child, clutching her Mog-toy. So dark, yet so fragile. Precious, precious. It's really what made me love this fic so much.
brothers and sisters - A picture shown in the end, Rude staring at stars, Elena drunkenly kneeled next to a nonchalant Reno. Midgar, the self-destruct city, in the backround. Also one of my best fanfics in my own opinion.
star signs -"Our secret?" ; Reno poking Rude's chest, the star scar on his palm, his hand making 'the gun' gesture at Rude's chest, Rude looking a little distraught. (I love myself for writing what very well could be the first FFVII:AC fanfic.)
Those are all I can think of now. I'm sure there's plenty, but I've just too much fic I don't want people to see because it's either a) embarrassing or b) shit or c) all of the above. Anyone can find this crap online, but I wish I could just include disclaimers to all fics that beg the reader to consider I've developed much as a writer in the last 2 years and my stuff is poor because I was such a beginner.
In my uselessness I found loads of time to read fic. Mostly slash. &So I found a thing that really irritates me when used in fanfiction. Het, slash, whatever. Usually slash.
Using a character only as a plot device while making them OOC, OR making some character purely evil for the sake of getting the two lovers together.
The plot could run something like this;
Bob and Mike are friends who gradually become gay lovers, but Mike doesn't want Bob to tell anyone, because it would harm Mike's reputation [or for some reason similar]. Bob feels tragically sad about this. One time, Mike and Bob are horny and at a baseball game, so they decide to shag in the men's toilets. For some reason there's a camera in the toilets and suddenly their personal, secret moment is the hottest gay-video on the internet. Mike is furious at Bob for suggesting they shag in the men's toilets during a baseball game, he might lose his job if his boss sees the video, for crying out loud!
Bob is tragically sad after Mike broke up with him. But fear not! For there is Tim, a caring friend of Bob, who starts a slow, loving process to consolate Bob after evil!Mike broke up with him. Soon enough Bob realizes he's much better off without evil!Mike and that he truly loves Tim after all.
Tim and Bob shag, in public, without any shame. Evil!Mike cries and wants Bob back. Tim and Bob don't care. They shag again. This time at Tim's appartment.

Nevermind the fact that Mike is a character not really like this in the canon. He's just pure evil here. A bastard who's afraid to come out of the closet, damn him to hell. He broke Bob's heart! Poor Bob! And Tim - he's all good, a caring friend, a passionate lover. Why, the author even decided to point out Mike's a crap kisser and Tim on the other hand loves to nimble on Bob's lower lip the way that drives Bob wild. Or something similar.
You don't like Mike, I get it. So don't write about him. Write about Bob & Tim instead. Leave Mike out, if you have to turn him into a monster when you want to include him in a fic.
[bob, tim & mike are 100% made up and the baseball-plot wasn't actually used in the fic i read, but the basic things remain. if you think you know what fic i'm talking about, congratulations. it's probably not that one, though. a similar plot could also be het, though then there wouldn't be that lovely 'out-of-the-closet'-factor.]
It could just be the fact that Mike/Bob is a sort-of OTP of mine and I wasn't happy when a story that started Mike/Bob turned out to be Bob/Tim & Mike's character totally raped in the process of Bob & Tim getting together. It just annoyed me a great deal.
The Creevey family gets my sympathy. They're tiny and cute. The father's a milkman. But I've never read a fic about Colin or Dennis. Anyone got any recs? I'll take anything.

Yesterday I found out that the Heroine Ficathon deadline was changed from 7/10 to 7/17. So glad!
Sudden Pottermania is making me read a bunch of message boards to find out who the fuck the Half Blood Prince is, omg! Geeky business.
