I just spent way more money than I'm used to spending on clothes... x_x I actually felt dizzy afterward. Holy crap clothes cost a lot these days, and I only got three pairs of pants. I did need them, though.
Went to the midnight selling of Harry Potter last night. It was an interesting mix in the crowd - kids with wands, older ladies with capes and hats, but mostly people dressed in their absolute preppiest. Designer jeans, sparkly purses, those ridiculous cab-driver-type hats (what's up with those, anyway?) as though by by dressing as preppily as possible we might overlook the fact that they are, in fact, standing in line at midnight for a fantasy novel.
I ended up in line behind Alida. She's changed, and yet she hasn't. She lives in an international dorm. She has friends with exciting names like Shannon and Simon. And she's counting the days until she can return to her little world where her residence hall contains more people than our highschool.
I kinda wish I'd gone to a larger college, but I do like it at Culver. It's good, as a music major, to have as much play time and as much one-on-one as possible with professors. I get a lot of that at Culver... at U of I I'd be one in a sea of faces. But yeah.. Alida told us about her boyfriend, Simon, who lives in Taiwan, and how she's majoring in international law. She always did act like that, though... like, despite the fact that she WAS born here, she can just ignore that American half of her and pretend she's really Dutch.
Feh. Whatever.
And someone ruined the ending of book six for me as soon as I got home. Freaking freaking freaking freak.
AND I have to send my computer back to the company to get its backlight fixed. *currently camped on floor for access to external monitor*
Le sigh. I'm not unhappy, y'know. But I feel like there's more I'm supposed to be doing...
