So yeah...no plans this weekend. Someone change that.
Everyone is kinda mad about an article that came out in Flagpole about the Athens hardcore scene. I don't know...It really doesn't bother me that much. I've been around enough to know that anytime there is something genuine and honest, there's gonna be others come along and try to exploit it, or offer a cheap imitation to make a quick buck. MTV and mainstream rock radio have been doing it for decades. I also know that eventually when all the bullshit is said and done, the people that are in this thing called hardcore for real will still be here and the fakes will have moved on to the next trend. So guys, I say fuck it...instead of putting all this effort into being pissed off, let's channel it into something productive. I also know that there is no such thing as bad publicity, so whatever. Regardless of what some magazine prints or what funny business some management company pulls...I'll still be at a show chillin with the best dudes ever.
I'm going to watch Phantasm 2.
