Hello there. I'm trying to make a point to write in here more often. That may or may not actually happen.

I had said yesterday that I wanted to write more on a subject that wasn't so cheery, so I might as well get that out of the way:

Tuesday, the 13th, I was getting all set for my second class of the summer: a short, 5 week Sociology 101 class.(It was scheduled to be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-9. Now, I knew full well that the actual summer term began on Thursday July 8th, but I was under the impression that my class didn't start until the following Tuesday [read: the aforementioned Tuesday the 13th].) But, as I came upon the syllabus, I read that the first day of class was listed as Thursday the 8th. Needless to say, I hoped and hoped it was a typo and promptly emailed my professor. Well, at 3:00 that afternoon I received an email back from Dr. Jill Shultz saying that, yes, I had missed the first class. She strongly recommended I drop the class. I took that opportunity to call her and attempt to discuss with her whether or not it was possible for me to pass her class after having missed the first. She did not only say no, but she literally scoffed at me on the phone (on more than one occasion). I was distraught and humiliated to say the least.

Therefore, I didn't have class on my birthday. I don't have class at all between July 28th and August 24th. This is pretty great, overall.

I had originally toyed with the idea of trying to squeeze the Soc 101 class in online in the Fall, but pretty much everyone who has a brain advises against that. So, I'll probably just do it for Jan Term 2011. *sigh* If only I knew when registration for Jan Term was.

Well, that's that for now.
