had a creature filled day today. started off when i turned up at work, with the usual greeting from darcy dog trying to jump in my car before i even got out. then she got me a stick. she usually gets a bit of grapevine root to throw around each day but this time she brought me something different..
it's darcy the vampire slayer! aww she is a girl after my own heart. pun not intended. i have no idea where she found a stake, but i'd fight evil alongside her any day. she is awesome.
then things got weirder... as i was stocking the shelves, i thought a weird rock had fallen from the roof down in amongst the bottles, so i went to grab it and realised it was breathing. after further investigation i am now verrrry glad i didn't just grab it. i might be deaded from a heart attack if i'd got my hands on a gigantic green tree frog.
you gotta love australia for it's giant aminals. the weather is warming up and creatures are literally coming out of the woodwork. not five minutes after i found this frog, the winemaker dropped by to take darcy to the beach, and was like 'do you always have those giant lizards out there??' and me and simone left our customers where they were to go see what he was talking about. there were two freakin huge blue tongue lizards on the grass out by the cellar door. darcy tried to eat them so it was lucky she went away for the day. here's a picture of them safely tucked away in the garden.
they're a cute couple hey. all snuggly. for lizards.
on the way home i noticed my thingy in my car that has numbers on it, getting up to a certain number so i got my camera out and was driving along going 'i hope i don't crash for the sake of a photo' and then i got to a red light and as i stopped, the last digit fell into place perfectly and i had plenty of time to take the shot. woohoo! yes, as you can see from this post, it doesn't take much to entertain me.
and that's what i did with my day.
we had such a quiet day at work and to fill the time i decided to educate simone on random animal facts. she's never had any pets. i don't understand people who don't love animals. she's a great girl but i just don't get that. so i told her a weird story i have about how awesome crows are because they are the only birds with problem solving skillz, and that octopus's [octopi?] are as smart as dogs. i freakin admire octopus's hey. they are cool. she was probably thinking 'SHUT UP! i don't care about octopus's!!' but whatev. at least it made 5 minutes go by a bit faster.
an absolute travesty happened. i finished my book :|
this is not good. book three in the dark tower series has not arrived yet so now i am stuck waiting and waiting and waiting for mr mail man to bring it to me. i searched high and low and ended up buying it from some second hand bookshop in america of all places! that was my own quest for the dark tower. heh. somehow i don't think that classes me as a gunslinger. but my god, even after just half an hour of finishing it, i felt like a druggie craving a fix, my skin was itching and i couldn't stand still and was going crazzzzy thinking how long it will be til i can read the next book. it's supposed to arrive this coming week LMAO anyone would think i had to wait a year or something. but seriously, i'm living, dreaming and fantasising about these books. i am, indeed, in love :)
