Today I replaced the old ballast in my kitchen's flourescent light thingy. I've never done anything like that before. It really makes me feel good. It's the second big project I've completed since New Year's Day. I changed out the garbage disposal (well, George did it) but I wanted to get it taken care of and I found a way to do it. It feels pretty cool. I figure that if I do four nice sized projects a month, that's 48 projects in a year. I could get this house in tip top shape if I keep at it. The house is looking old and neglected. I need to pay attention to it quickly. I did get a dumpster here for a week so that I could clean out the garage. I still have a long way to go there...but it is definitely underway. I am going to clean out the laundry room closet, replace the ballast in the laundry room light thingy, replace the base floor, repair the wall, fix the dryer, paint the room, replace the tile, and buy a shelving unit. I will continue to clean the garage as we go. I'm posting this under my fitness journal because this has become my other form of exercise. I use muscles in weird ways to do this work. I had to work while holding my hands straight up today to work on the light. That did a number on my neck, shoulders, and arms. I am actually pretty excited about the projects all the way around.
