Hike in Afton Canyon
Yesterday, I went for a hike with Theresa, Angela, and Shannon in Afton Canyon. It was so much fun. I almost didn't go...you know, I have a to-do list that usually serves as my ball and chain, but this time I turned my back on the list. I went with them and we were gone the whole day. The canyon was pretty cool...out toward Barstow. There were pale green mountains, made that way from a mineral, I'm sure. Some of the mountain was pale pink, while another was a dark, reddish brown. The place is considered the Grand Canyon of the IE. There were massive mud slabs that were hundreds of feet high. They folded in and out, but vertically. Theresa and Angela's dogs, Delilah and Sampson, went chest deep in quick sand. That was scarey....but overall, the place was just cool to look at. Ended the day at the PUB, a pizza place with great beer named Landshark. It was served in a big, frosty mug.....that was FANTASTIC. I want to do this day again.
Today I walked up Muscupiabe with Sarah just to get some walk time in. We started the Jillian Michael's workout, but really need a mat, weights, and more space. Ate pretty decently...I'm pretty sure. Had a strange Indian dinner, but it grew on me before I finished it. Well, I'd better get to work.
