Weekly Checkin..

I weighed myself this morning and I am down 5 pounds!!!! Very happy about that!!! Progress is good. I noticed some new "dimples" at the top of my thighs and upon examination - it's muscle starting to define itself some. It's just the barest of starts but I do seem to have more energy and I'm liking the small changes I am starting to see. I am sleeping better and feel more rested when I get up.

I made it 20 minutes on the elliptical all 3 workouts this week although it's still a grind in those last five minutes. I think I'm going to stay at 20 minutes for this week and try to build my stamina some. My ultimate goal is 30 minutes by the end of July but I don't want to overdo and burn myself out.

I'm doing abs exercises to try to tone those up some. I have read that it's better to get the lower abs in shape first but a lot of the exercises I'm finding seem to strain my lower back or maybe I'm just doing them wrong. I have to be careful of my lower back. My knees still don't like the elliptical at first but 30 minutes after working that machine they have settled down and seem fine.

Goals this week: Maintain 20 minutes on the ellipitcal and continue abs workouts 3 times a week with upper body 2 times and lower body 1 time. Total 3 trips to the gym. Continue to watch diet July 4th Holiday notwithstanding.

Goal by months end: 30 minutes on the elliptical!
