So it seems there are better ways to remove your fingerprints than carving off a chunk of the flesh on the pad. Who knew?
Yes, I sliced off about 1/8 inch or so of my left thumbpad at work. It's a little sliver of flesh and it bleed like crazy, got to take the rest of the day from work by going to local clinic who then sent me to hospital since it was bleeding a little more than they liked, only to have doctor do the same thing they were going to (it wasn't really 'bleeding' anymore, oozing is the term when it's slow). Put on stinging pad to help clean and help blood clot, wrapped up in some gauze and banded it (a little too much, since it's only a bit on the tip, but my whole thumb got mummified; I had to trim bandage because it was cutting off too much circulation and it was making my thumb ache).
anywho, obviously I missed the intense saturday workout, and I might have to miss tuesday's too since I have a follow-up to make sure it's healing properly and not infected, etc.
It should be closed up soon though and they said I could work out again within the week, it just looks worse than it is and it won't interfere with my fight in 4 weeks. However, I've been pseudo-off diet, since I can't workout right now and can't cook, so I have to get food. Le sigh...I might not be at the weight I want, even with the super workout weight cut since I'm probably gaining from this injury/feast.
The weight cut plain is nothing too crazy, but it does drop weight 3.5~4lbs/week than the normal 2lbs/week, not good to keep up for more than 3 weeks though. That gives me enough time to lose a good amount of weight and then rest and eat normalish to recover for my fight.
