[A certain elevator in a certain part of The Nexus descends into view and comes to a stop. The doors then open slowly. And out of it steps a queenly sort of woman; carrying a high-powered rail gun almost equal in length to her own height. Around her shoulder is draped a heavy coat; the hem flutters lazily in the non-existant breeze. The woman

What the-?

No time to admire this creature. Quick assessment: Why fire at him? Had she been waiting for him? With the way she talked...
Volgin had performed some dark and deprived things in the Nexus recently. Had someone been seeking revenge against him, perhaps? He had quirked a brow at the father talk; his crimes had been against women.
His English was harsh with his thick Russian accent:]
I didn't "finish" your father!
[His muscles were taut, ready to fling his ridiculous mass across the room if he needed to. Those weren't mere bullets.]

[Suddenly, as he speaks with that thick Russian accent, a look of realization crosses her features. A Gurlukovich man...]
[She exhales through her nose in annoyance, and slowly lowers her large weapon.]
You're not supposed to be down here. [Her disappointment with the situation is obvious in her frustrated tone.] Where is your uniform?

His hands folded behind his broad back as he, for all of his crude, tacky casual, assumed a very Colonel-y posture, lip curled and chest forward.]
By whose authority are you allowed to be pressing about my dress and location?
Reply
By your commander's. You may not answer to me, but I won't be tolerating any insolence from you. The Gurlukovich men are to assist Dead Cell for this mission whether you like it or not.
[She walks forward, grimacing as she eyes him] I didn't know Olga lead such disrespectful men.
[That figures, though. That Olga woman seemed to be quite the handful herself.]

It was a fear he enjoyed reinforcing, not to mention no one spoke to him this way.
He remained quite stiff as she approached him, ready to look right down at her in his usual manner if she came close enough.]
Gurlukovich? I am not familiar with the name, and I've never taken orders from him.
... Her.
[Whatever.]
It seems you have no authority over me.

Then....
[Fortune hoists her weapon up in the man's direction once more.] You must be another agent.
[Darkly] Are you here to kill me, intruder?
Reply
I answer to no one.
Now, my dear, if death is so what you desire...
[He tone drifted as the stench of ozone spiked, the electrical build up crackling across his body once again as he sunk into a fighter's stance. A shame to kill this woman, in a sense; he made a note to savor her body and not maim her too badly before it came down to her end.
He would come away from the fight with a new toy too, with his darker appetites slaked.]
... Allow me the pleasure.

If you think that you can kill me, then my life is yours to claim.
But if you can't... [She flips the switch on the side of her railgun; charging it's power] ...You may end up losing your own.
Don't waste my time. Show me what you can do! [Fortune goes to shoot in his direction]

You can join them!
[His eye was alight in the rise of his creeping violence high, competing with his carnal urges to preserve the poor girl; it would soon become a debatable matter if he could hold himself back enough to leave anything at all.
The gun did not scare him. Not even the hole in the wall it had created scared him. It would be like before, he assumed as he charged at her, his electromagnetic shield at the ready: Just another fool hiding under the protection of a gun.]

[So, what does happen when 2 electromagnetic shields (that only half make sense) collide...? Something sparkly, apparently.]
Reply
[Fortune, having no idea that the protective force around her is an electromagnetic shield, is taken aback when Volgin charges at her and the two soldiers end up practically bouncing off one anther when he gets too close. A giant spark is created between them and Fortune stumbles backward from the force.]
What--
Reply
[Volgin rather stupidly stumbled back himself. If there was enough silence between them, maybe Fortune could have heard the gears cranking in the giant's head.
What was that? It didn't exactly hurt, but it did not exactly brush right off of him either.
He gave her a look, confused, but... Maybe that was why she was so mouthy. A big gun and something else.]
What the...?
What was that.
[If he was close enough, he might have brought a finger out to experimentally try to touch her. Or whatever it was that knocked him backwards and nearly on his ass. If he wasn't, well, here he came, right for Fortune's personal space.]
Reply
[Honestly] ...I don't know.
[Beat you to it! Being someone who doesn't fear death, as soon as Volgin steps close enough, Fortune curiously reaches out and goes to grab hold of his arm.]
[If the man's protective electric shield has been lowered, then it should be alright. But if not... the two should be getting another 'shock' as their bodies are forced apart.]
