I got a parking ticket today. I slept in and took the 8:46 train to Washington D.C. Even though I got to the park and ride in Laurel 15 minutes early, and it was nasty and windy and rainy and anyone with half a functioning brain would have taken the day off, there was not an open space to be seen. Well, there were half-spaces here or there, since people don't know how the holy blue hell to PARK, but nowhere you could even fit a bitty Corolla. So I picked an empty spot as close to the parking spaces and as far out of the way as I could, and some glorified Barney Fife came strolling by in the middle of the day, when it should have been clear that I parked where I did out of necessity, and ticketed me for 25 dollars. That's a lot of money to me, anyhow. There was a truck (a TRUCK!) right behind me, no ticket that I could see. My fiery hatred of Laurel, Maryland resumes unabated.
Now, having expressed my anger, I need to assuage it by distracting myself with something mindless. Hey, lookit that...
