7spells prompt challenge, 4/7, March 1972 their wedding - well probably the reception, where Andi thinks lots of very deep things.
Andromeda sat at the head table, her hand entwined with Ted’s under the table, she had already pushed her food around her plate and now she thought great thoughts about love and family.
She had wondered whether leaving her family for Ted had been a good idea, but she was infinitely happier with him than any of her family had ever made her. Out of the corner of her eye she could see Sirius and his friends as they stole a bottle of firewhiskey from behind the bar - she left them to it, the four of them would learn that second years and firewhiskey didn’t mix.
She heard Ted’s father call for silence, and put on the smile that was expected of her, but in truth the only member of her family here was Sirius, and he couldn’t care less how she acted. She was herself here and she didn’t have to act like a Black anymore - she had been a Tonks for a little over four hours.
Mr Tonks senior spoke about love and sickly sweet things like that, but it just served to drive her thoughts away from the speech, she moved her hand slightly and Ted looked at her, his eyes silently asked if she was alright, she nodded and squeezed his hand. She glanced down, the ‘I do’s’ they had said earlier had forever entwined their souls, like two lengths of ribbon plaited together, and it was shown in the way they had not let each other’s hands go for quite a while, as if they both craved the touch of the other.
