Summary: Donghae wins a chance to see his idol, Lee Hyukjae AKA the best actor of our generation, in person during the filming for a new movie. What happens when the actress playing the main female role quits and is replaced by Donghae himself?
“Should I perform CPR?”
“I don’t think so. He looks fine.”
“I think I should do CPR.”
Donghae’s eyes blinked open to find Hyukjae’s face just a few inches away from his own.
“I’M FINE!” he shouted before sitting up hastily, only to bonk his forehead against Hyukjae’s. The brunette’s glasses were almost knocked off again and were hanging at the bottom of his nose. Rubbing his head and fixing them, he looked up to see the actor doing the same. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Hyukjae grinned. “Are you?”
Donghae suddenly stepped into daydream mode after seeing Hyukjae flash his gummy smile. His legs got wobbly once again as he stood up, but he was able to control them this time by shaking his head back and forth and focusing on the real world. Donghae returned the smile and nodded his head before Hyukjae led him to his dressing room. There, the red head signed a picture of himself and handed it to the brunette, who instantly thanked him before falling to the floor.
“A-Are you okay?” Hyukjae asked him, helping his fan back up. “Come on, it’s just an autograph.”
“Th-Thank you, Hyukjae-ssi,” Donghae bowed as politely as he could. He was about to dash out the door, but was stopped by a hand on his wrist.
“We’re the same age. No formalities, okay?” Hyukjae laughed. He had actually cared to see the winner’s background information and coincidentally, they were both born in the same year.
Donghae gulped and nodded. “I’m sorry for using formalities!”
Hyukjae just laughed at him as he led the way back to the stage. There, the main actress was rehearsing her lines as she paced back and forth. When she caught sight of Hyukjae, she grinned cutely at him, but stopped when her eyes met Donghae. The actress sent the brunette a piercing glare.
“Who’s he, oppa?” she asked Hyukjae with that smile from before. Donghae was already beginning to find it annoying.
“My biggest fan,” Hyukjae replied, a smirk slowly appearing. “Are you jealous, Hye Sung?”
Their expressions instantly became serious when the director suddenly interrupted by calling action. Donghae watched with a dropped jaw, amazed at Hyukjae’s professionalism. He didn’t pay much attention to the actress, since she didn’t seem to like him anyway. The brunette could’ve sworn that Hyukjae was currently glowing… or maybe it was just the lighting. Whatever it was, the red head looked amazing. Donghae couldn’t believe how realistic the actor was able to make the scene and-
A loud thud was heard and Hyukjae turned around to see the cause of the noise. Hye Sung watched with a frown as he rushed over to the fan, who was collapsed on the floor.
“Are you okay, Donghae?” he shook the brunette a couple of times to wake him up.
Donghae’s eyes fluttered open, panicking as they saw Hyukjae so close. The red head immediately backed away, afraid that his fan would faint again. He helped Donghae up and placed him on a chair.
“Comfortable?” Hyukjae questioned.
“Oppa!” Hye Sung called from the stage with her fake innocent voice. Donghae knew she was just pure evil. “This movie’s not going to film itself!”
Hyukjae glared at her for a few seconds before he turned to face the brunette, waiting for an answer. Donghae was his fan after all; he needed to treat him well. When the other male nodded, Hyukjae left him and got back on the stage to find the actress gone. He turned around to find her and when he did, she was already heading towards the exit.
“Where do you think you’re going?!” the director shouted at Hye Sung, too lazy to chase her down.
“I’m leaving!” she shot back, stomping her foot. “If that brat over there is more important, then forget me! I quit.”
Hye Sung pointed an index finger at Donghae before leaving, shutting the door loudly to show how devastated she was. That was when the director worriedly jumped off his chair. He paced back and forth in the filming location, not knowing what to do.
“My movie! It’s ruined!”
“No it isn’t,” Hyukjae tried to comfort him, even though he too knew they were doomed.
“What do you mean?!” the director answered, throwing his hands in the air. He was extremely frustrated. “We don’t have anyone to replace her! She was good at her job, too! What were you thinking, Hyukjae?! Why’d you ignore her like that?”
Hyukjae shrugged. “Of course we can replace her. There are plenty of talented people out there…”
“Like who?”
“Like… like…” Hyukjae paused for a second to think. “Like Donghae.”
“WHAT!” Donghae yelled as he stood up from his chair, adjusting his glasses as he did so. “No!”
The director was grinning when the brunette looked at him, hoping for backup. This worried Donghae even more. He had no experience in acting and he never even thought about being an actor his whole entire life.
“That’s brilliant!” the director exclaimed. “It’ll be a unique love story!”
“LOVE STORY?” Donghae screamed in horror. “No, I can’t!”
“It’ll be fine, Donghae,” Hyukjae smiled warmly at him, placing a hand on his shoulder that was currently trembling. “Do it for your favorite idol?”
Donghae nearly collapsed again before he finally decided to give in.
“Okay, fine. I’ll do it,” he sighed, crossing his arms. “BUT ONLY BECAUSE-”
“Great! Take him to the dressing room!” the director clapped his hands once and a kind woman arrived. She beckoned the brunette to follow her and so he did. Seconds later, Donghae realized that his dressing room was right next to Hyukjae’s. When he entered, he was placed onto a chair where she combed his hair and dressed him up. Donghae felt like a complete doll and he didn’t like it a bit. How was Hyukjae able to stand it? When the lady finally decided to release him, he was relieved and quickly returned to the filming location.
“Oh look! Our Hae’s back!” the director clapped his hands again in joy.
Hyukjae cocked his head towards the direction of the director’s gaze. He suddenly opened his mouth in awe at the sight of Donghae with his hair neatly brushed and his glasses finally off. The brunette didn’t look close to a nerd at all; he looked completely stunning. Hyukjae eyed his fan up and down, causing the other to blush slightly, before he took a step back. Only one syllable was able to escape the red head’s mouth then.
“Whoa.”
