Summary: Donghae wins a chance to see his idol, Lee Hyukjae AKA the best actor of our generation, in person during the filming for a new movie. What happens when the actress playing the main female role quits and is replaced by Donghae himself?
“Oh, this is excellent!” the director threw his arms up in the air, almost smacking Hyukjae in the face. “Someone please call this boy’s parents and inform them that their son shall become a star!”
One of the prop members immediately scurried off the filming location to look for a phone. Meanwhile, the actor was still staring at the brunette, his jaw still open. Donghae’s cheeks turned pink as he turned away, avoiding Hyukjae’s stare.
“Hyukjae-ssi, I think you should show me the script,” he muttered, waking the red head up from his trance.
“Oh, right!” Hyukjae blinked a few times before dashing to his dressing room, returning just a few seconds later with another copy of the script. “The first scene has you being chased by a group of men and before they ‘kill’ you, I’m supposed to kick their asses.”
He smirked and Donghae scanned the lines, trying his best to memorize them in the little time he had left. The lines weren’t very difficult to remember, since most of them were screams and cries. The brunette nodded once the words were carved into his mind. The director led him to the filming location and he watched behind him as a group of other actors, all dressed in black, were getting ready to chase him down. He gulped and took a deep breath as he heard the director’s voice shout.
“Do your best, Donghae-ssi! Action!”
With that, the brunette ran. His legs refused to stop as they carried him farther and farther down the dark alley. He was panting now, tired, as the guys were still chasing him with loud footsteps. However, he couldn’t stop yet, because he was supposed to show everyone that he could do this well. Donghae eventually reached the end of the dark alley after some more running, his back touching the wall. His chest heaved up and down and he screamed as best as he could. Putting on a worried look, the brunette scanned his surroundings, making it look as if he was trying to escape.
“Don’t try,” one actor smirked at him and Donghae replied with another scream.
A knife was pointed at his throat, and he was pretty sure that it was real. Even if it was just acting, the brunette was panicking as if it were a real situation. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, ready for what was about to come. Just then, Hyukjae leaped from the top of one of the buildings, a few thin strings attached to him, guiding him down. He landed next to the man and with his experience in action movies, the red head kicked the knife out of the other actor’s grip. The weapon flew a few yards away and landed with a loud “clang”.
It was a one-against-five fight after that; the acting seemed so real as Donghae stood there and watched. He tried to keep his mouth from opening and with lots of hard work, the brunette succeeded. That was when Hyukjae turned around to face him, breathing heavily. He fell onto the ground with a thud and Donghae screamed another time.
“No!”
“CUT,” the director announced. “Good job, Donghae! That was great for your first time!”
Donghae moved his gaze to the director’s face. The acting was so real to him that he thought Hyukjae had actually fainted. However, the brunette was relieved when Hyukjae stood up and patted him on the shoulder.
“That was great, Hae!” he smiled that gummy smile.
Donghae didn’t know what happened after that, because he was the next to fall onto the floor with a thud.
He woke up the next morning in a bed that he was not used to. Donghae squirmed a couple of times, trying to get himself comfortable, but failed. He finally opened his eyes and scanned the room. The walls were tan, the bed sheets were white, and there was a linked bathroom. The brunette blinked a few times before sitting up, only to be greeted with the door opening. A familiar red head stepped inside and placed a tray on the nightstand.
“Good morning,” Hyukjae grinned. “I’m pretty sure you’re hungry now, but I’m not the best at cooking. Sorry.”
“Hyukjae-ssi!” Donghae jumped, screamed, and backed away until he fell off the bed. “What am I doing here?!”
“What did I tell you about dropping the formalities?” Hyukjae faked a pout. “In case you didn’t remember, you fainted yesterday… again.”
“I’m sorry!” he stood up and bowed 90 degrees. “I’ll leave right now!”
“No! Eat!” Hyukjae blocked the doorway and placed the tray into the brunette’s hands. “Your breakfast will get cold.”
Donghae gulped and nodded. He sat down on the white bed sheets and placed the tray on his lap. It took him a few seconds to take in what was in front of him. It was a normal breakfast, consisting of eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Donghae took his time eating, completely aware of the fact that Hyukjae was watching his every move. The room was silent though, except for the sounds of the knife and fork doing their work.
In a few minutes, he wiped his mouth with the provided napkin and picked the tray up.
“Thank you, Hyukjae-ssi-I mean Hyukjae,” Donghae stood up and headed for the door.
“I got it,” Hyukjae grabbed the tray from him. “I’ll go get you some orange juice. Meanwhile, you can memorize your new lines. I set them on the nightstand.”
Donghae nodded and turned around to find the script.
“Since you fainted yesterday, we couldn’t continue, so you have lots of work to do today.”
He sighed and nodded again as Hyukjae walked away.
After sipping the orange juice and getting the lines stuck into his head (which took only a while), Hyukjae drove them both to the filming location. Donghae was unhappy with his lines for today, because he was 100% sure that he wouldn’t be able to state them. The director was waiting at the filming location and he practically jumped in glee as the sight of Hyukjae’s car came into view. They both stepped out and immediately proceeded to the dressing rooms.

“Please,” Donghae shook the unmoving body in front of him. He was currently nervous with thoughts of acting this part incorrectly in his mind. “D-Don’t leave yet.”
Hyukjae weakly opened his eyes and stared into Donghae’s brown chocolaty orbs. He got lost for a moment and forgot to continue.
“P-Please,” Donghae repeated to pull him away from his daydreaming.
Hyukjae instantly raised his hand and reached out for Donghae’s cheek. The actor lightly grazed his fingers through the brunette’s hair. Donghae seemed to back away at the sudden action.
“Save yourself,” Hyukjae replied, trying to sound as weak as possible. “They’re going to kill you if they see me with you.”
Donghae closed his eyes, not believing that he would have to state the next lines. Could this movie be any worse? With lots of determination, he leaned forward into Hyukjae’s touch and answered him. This was an amazing achievement for the brunette.
“Then they’re going to kill me,” he gulped before continuing. “I’m not going to let you go.”
“I…” Hyukjae acted out a cough. “I love you.”
Donghae paused, not ready to reply to this, even if it was just acting. It was going great until now. He swallowed a large amount of nothing and tried his best.
“I…” he stopped for a few seconds. “I l-l-love…”
His lines didn’t include stuttering, but he couldn’t stop doing so, and so the he stood up.
“I can’t do this,” he gave up, brushing nothing off his jacket. “Is it too late to quit?”
The director gasped at the unexpected statement. Everything was going so well! The cameras stopped recording and Hyukjae stood up as well.
“You okay?” the red head asked him.
“No!” Donghae shouted. “I’m not a professional like you, okay? I can’t act the way you do!”
After speaking in front of Hyukjae’s face, he ran away, escaping to his dressing room and locking the door behind.
A/N: ... What do you think...? Too fast? -hides behind a corner- I'm sorry for the wait... you can blame homework, my laziness, and my frustration over the GDA.
ALSO! Any Christmas one-shot requests? I want to write one, but my brain is dead and if it does think of an idea, I assure you it'll be extremely cheesy. Message me if you have any requests! If you put it here, the whole plot will be revealed and I don't think I want that... THANKS! ^^
