1) Robert Palmer's 1992 album Ridin' High, an atypical mix of jazzy standards and slightly bluesy romantic songs that I just love.
2) Right Whales (you knew there had to be whales somewhere in this list!)
3) Rome. Well, all of Italy, really. It is lovely, the people are friendly, the history is all around you: what's not to like?
4) Rainier Cherries. So good they are almost a guilty pleasure.
5) Reading; my calling in life.
6) Red-tailed hawks. They are so pretty soaring around over the desert that sometimes I stop the car to watch them. But these hawks don't just hang out over the desert. That sophisticated big-city hawk, Pale Male, is a red-tailed hawk that lives in the Big Apple.
7) As long as we are speaking about birds: Red winged blackbirds! These are such cool birds! One of the most memorable things I ever saw was a flock of them pausing right outside a wall of windows at my old job. I was waiting for a meeting and got to watch them for ages.
8) Red Chard! Yum!
9) Rain! We don't get much of it, and when water falls from the sky we tend to go out and look at it.
10) Rainbows. Especially because we don't see them much. (see #9)
