Today's been a super off-day for me, so I just scribbled out a quick piece of fan art for today's Doodle. I literally did this in like ten minutes, haha.
LADIES & GENTLEMEN CID HIGHWIND.
Man if I hadn't drawn Doc Ock for over a year I hadn't drawn Cid in YEARS. I was a total Final Fantasy VII fan-tard as an adolscent, I will not lie. When I was 13 the commercials they showed on TV for the brand new FF7 game were WHOA SO COOL and I loved the hell out of that game. Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine were my favorite characters. Everybody else could go hang, those two were always in my party and I never really doodled anybody else either, haha. I've gotten over that game (unlike large chunks of the internet), but I still have a soft spot in my heart for Cid & Vince.
Considering all the creepy bishonen and young, scantily-dressed kids that make up most Japanese entertainment, Cid was a favorite 'cos he was anything but. He was a 30-something asshole who drank, smoked, swore heavily, was scruffy and kinda homely, stomped around and had flying machines. And drank tea. His Limit Breaks were often hilarious and I think one of his joke weapons was a mop.
I am sad that he does not have a swearing contest with Donald Duck in the Kingdom Hearts games.
