Calgone take me away!

It's definitely Spring. Itchy swollen eyes, snot running down my face, constant sneezing.. it's not a pretty sight. The best part of all is that the only thing that even somewhat works is Benadryl, but it makes me soo tired that I can only take it at night and hope that the half life will stay with me during the day. I am however taking my eye drops as prescribed, but it seems like it doesn't last near long enough.

In other news I'm fighting the Good Ole' Boys of Giles County. Yep, the home of the KKK still has a dirty little secret. Everything is controlled by the Good Ole' Boy, but it turns out that they aren't so good. Our builder Mr. Bill Rackley of Pulaski, TN, built our house and has refused to fix our punch list (which according to the TN code annotated he has to), move the water heater that is located under the house and is sitting in water, and refuses to fix the issues with the drains, the lake under our house and even the city codes that he was instructed to fix. That's where more of the Good Ole' Boy stuff comes in. You may or not know, that when a residential or commercial building is built, city codes and electrical codes are to come out and inspect. The normal amount of inspections is about 3. Our home was inspected, however before a certificate of occupancy is given everything is suppose to be finished, and up to code. This is where the failure happened. The water heater was not installed before the inspection, and there were two city codes that were not fixed before the certificate of occupancy was given. Now I have a house that is not only flawed with water under my house, but it's also not up to city code. When I spoke with the electrical inspector he told me that if I had him come back out and inspect our house, we would have 30 days to fix the problem and the eclectic company would turn off our electricity until it was fixed.. we'd basically be condemned. A brand new house not up to city code, and it's possible we could be condemned?!

So far I have contacted lawyer in the county but they wouldn't touch it. I have found a lawyer to help me, but he's in a different county. So after my last email from our builder with his rude response of "Apparently, you should have had a home inspection done BEFORE closing." I decided it was time to get the word out. So far I've spoken to the Mayor, the code inspectors, the TN fire marshal, the contractors board, my State representative, the city attorney, my personal attorney, and the governors assistant. All of them were good contacts, except the governor. I guess he's just too busy, but I plan on following up with a written letter to follow. If you all have any ideas of other people to contact let me know. I think I'm also going to try to get in touch with the news paper, and possibly local tv stations. I'm not going to put up with this shit. We are being bullied.

Okay, on to more entertaining stuff in a simple list format.

*I am getting really excited about school.

*My dad's Doctor's visit went well. He's going back in June for a colonoscopy.

*Our little stray kitty Orphan Annie seems to be sick. We're going to be taking her to the vet tomorrow.

*I had an awesome time in Indiana with Jenn. I'm super excited for her and her fiancé and I can't wait for the wedding in May. It sounds like it's going to be beautiful! Jason's actually going to come with me too.. so I think we're going to try and take advantage of the time we have together.

*I'm still trying to figure out how to pay for school.

*I only have three more tests in my online class. I can't wait!!

*April is Occupational Therapy month, and I've been having a great time with my shadowing. I've actually completed my 50 hours, but I'm going to do one more day of shadowing on Tuesday. I'm pretty sure that pediatrics is my calling.

*My crock pot cracked, and it's making me horribly sad.

*Jason's soccer team is doing really well… as of right now they are 5th in the district. I have a feeling that might change. He's got 3 more games and I'm incredibly hopeful that they can win the next 3, which would bring them way up in the districts.

*My job ends at the end of May… what the hell am I going to do for $$ during the summer? There is nothing to do down here in Giles County. I certainly don't want to take a 45min commute to make $5 an hour. The vew places to work in Pulaski are Wal-Mart, Wal-Green, CVS, and fast food; none of which sound very good to me. So I don't know. If any of you have any thoughts, please let me know.

*My trip to FL is also a little bit of an issue with my job search.. but I really need the trip and I can't wait!

*Baby shower news… I can't decide on a theme. I still have a little while so I guess that's okay.

I think that is it.. other than I hate Giles County! I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend. I think we're going to unpack the rest of the boxes we have shoved in the closets and maybe will spend our income tax returns on a grill. Woo Hoo!
