So I think I always knew that celebrity status (even small celebrity) gave people opportunities that they couldn't have earned on their own.
Celebrities get free stuff, even though they are some of the few who could actually afford to buy whatever they wanted for themselves, they get it for free.
And I realize movies sometimes want a NAME to attach to them to bring in an audience.
Apparently you can be a local "celebrity" (re wouldn't be recognized at all in the next city over) and get cast in a lead role in a classical play without auditioning or even knowing the role. :P
Yep, that's right, a local radio personality I have worked with gets to play Lady Macbeth, and she doesn't even know what kind of role that is!!
Well, hopefully she can handle it.
