Unintended crossovers
So I don't read much Bandom (In fact, it's fair to say I only read Bandom fics accidentally or when they're a crossover with something else I like by an author I know, or via some other odd circumstances.) but I know enough from looking over author master fic lists to know that bands are often identified by their acronyms. Which I guess makes sense-- I do the same thing with TV shows, after all-- but does cause the uninitiated (such as myself) difficulties.
For example, when I see 'MCR/SPN' I assume that it's a crossover between a Middle Common Room and Supernatural rather than 'My Chemical Romance'. Although an MCR/SPN crossover would be fun :) *prods the internet*
Am working on my next fic rec set (happy fuzzy part two for the win!), a meta post on RPF (with fic rec examples of RPF I'll actually read), a rec set for sentient!Atlantis fics (with a bonus section of sentient!other_things)... can you tell that my lunch breaks and I are avoiding doing actually useful work?
