DuPont state forest - with a HS friend (BS) and family in tow. The kids (7 and 4) managed getting up/in to Triple and High falls - and then the rain hit (hard) and we were drenched on the way out. Tremendous amount of water flow for the falls though.

one of my leftover pics from last week...the weather here is amazing. it snows, then thaws, then snows again. this time it really just stuck on the mountain tops and I had to really wind my way around to get this picture. The amazing thing is, it is very wet here and the freezes come on so fast the moisture pushes up out of the ground in ( Read more... )

This January NC weather has been quite schizophrenic - 50 degrees-ice storm-50 degrees..and so on. Midweek I made it out to DuPont SP (you've all seen pictures before of the lovely Triple Falls and High Falls.
But what you didn't know was that the hikes to the other falls were based from the Hooker Falls parking lot. Had a little extra time, so ( Read more... )
