Lots to update I guess. The weather has been fantastic (or atrocious, depending on your POV). We were snowed in Friday night into Saturday - we could hav ventured out Sunday but another storm (the biggie) was heading our way. Last night it started to snow sometime around midnight (at a rate of and inch per hour!) and it was wonderful to wake up to this:
SNOW Huddled indoors...taking purview of my shut-in weekend of projects. In the last few weeks I have completed a
baby quilt for a friend in MN (along with a full-size that matches for her older daughter), innumerable tops for my humane society crate bed projects, a
wool-fleece quilt for our downstairs use (Radley approves)
And... a
pointy kitty which I free-handed the pattern to see if I could find projects to use up all the batting/scraps from the quilting stuff. My result...a not-so-pointy-kitty. Scrappy Kitty?
Turns out, not only am I bad at hand-stitching, I really don't have the patience for this sort of thing. Lessons learned: use batting in over-sized head, not the heavier fabric scraps, felt IS appropriate for the stripes and eyes, match the thread to the fabric (duh), and print the actual pattern - mine is off in some weirdish ways. not a crafter. will find other uses for my scraps.
