Looks like her number came up...

OMG, guys... I ACTUALLY ENJOYED MONK TONIGHT!  OMG!!!!!!!!!!  This episode reminded me why Monk used to be MY show.  Seriously.  It was freaking hilarious, and Monk was adorable, and Stottlemeyer and Disher had a bunch of scenes that made me laugh like crazy, and Monk doesn't know the difference between 91 and 16 and I know that bit was in the commercial, but Monk went on a five minute tangent about how a monkey can read numbers and he was completely oblivious to the fact that he was holding a #16 and he was so genuinely taken aback by his mistake and the fact that there was no line and it was just so so so hilarious and natural and so very Monk and OMG, THIS IS WHY I LOVE THIS SHOW!  And Disher obsessing over his stolen line, and then Natalie stealing Monk's line and Monk was obsessing over that, and Disher proclaiming his love for Stottlemeyer, and Disher holding his hand to Stottlemeyer's heart as he clumsily defended his honer, and OMG I LOVE DISHER SO FREAKING HARD!  Disher and Stottlemeyer deserve their own show.  Monk and Natalie should be the wacky supporting characters.  I can't believe how lovable these two guys have become over the years.  When the show started, I couldn't stand them.  Now I love them more than I love Monk.  That's just weird.  Adrian Monk used to be my #1 love, but... well, the writers pretty much ruined that.  But then they give me these very rare gems that keep me hanging onto the damn show.  BAH!  Honestly though, everyone was in top form tonight, even Natalie, and usually Natalie is so blah that I never feel anything for her, but tonight she actually had a personality.  Yay!  And the case was actually creative without being ridiculous, something that hasn't happened in years.  Oh, you guys, this is the Monk that I love.  You know what the big difference was?  No B-list guest star cheesing it up.  The show actually got to focus on the case while also exploring the relationships between Monk, Natalie, Disher and Stottlemeyer.  OMG!  My Monk love makes me happy.

As for Psych, well... I just wasn't feeling it.

It was too over the top with the daredevil crap, then that ridiculous speech from Shawn to the daredevil at the end that took an insanely huge amount of time and tried to be OMG DRAMA LOOK SHAWN IS GROWING AS A PERSON but instead was so over-serious that I was cringing and had to fight with myself to not change the channel.  Blech.  The Shawn/Gus shippy parts of the ep were awesome though, especially Shawn's prom comment, but on the Lassiter/Juliet front I really wasn't feeling the sparks.  Maybe I was expecting too much since I read the spoilers.  I was so wanting Juliet jealousy and awkwardness, but instead got... I don't know.  Maybe I just need to rewatch.  But the plot was absolutely horrid and way too cheesy.  I know the show likes to cheese it up for effect, but this was too much cheese for my stomach to handle.  I don't know.  I'm just so disenchanted with Psych lately.  I blame that damn Shawn/Juliet moment from the last episode, even though it was completely disregarded for this episode.  I'm such a gloomy Gus.
I think I was just so blown away by not being disappointed by Monk that anything that followed was bound to pale in comparison.  And I found myself watching for the In Plain Sight promos more than anything else.  That show has completely taken over my brain.  I really, really can't wait for Sunday.  Squeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Speaking of In Plain Sight, I spent pretty much all my free time this afternoon reading IPS fic, and I absolutely have to recommend these two fics, because they are pure brilliance:

abvj - This is sort of a Trojan Horst post-ep, and I know, I know, that is SO out of fashion already, BUT, this is so much more than that.  It gives Mary and Marshall the greatest backstory that I have ever read, and it is by far the greatest Mary POV piece out there.  This author understands Mary so completely, and I love how she captures every single facet of Mary's character, and how I can actually feel every bit of love and appreciation that she has for Marshall, but also how much those feelings, that gratitude for having him around, bug the crap out of her.  Oh, you guys, read this.  All the adorable moments, Mary's inability to let herself be loved, her inability to say what's in her heart, oooooooh, you guys!  READ IT!  This is exactly how I view Mary and her outlook on her relationship with Marshall, and oh, how I adore the Marshall in this fic.  Everything about this is pitch perfect.  There are a few grammatical errors here and there, but honestly, the characters and the emotions are conveyed so perfectly that you won't even care.  READ IT!

randomrattle - Oh, how this one made me smile.  So much goodness, so much fluff, a little daydreaming, a little angst, a little drama, but oooooooooh, so so much goodness.  #2 is my particular favorite, so in character.  And #3 is just really damn sexy.  JAMES BOND MARSHALL!!!!

And last, but certainly not least, I bring you the most brilliant picspam known to woman.
adlervan and
15lbpurebunny make my life complete.  How a discussion about hair can sound so intelligent and film degree-ish is beyond me, but boy am I glad that they can do it:

Masthairpiece Theater Presents... The Forelock Saga

That title?  Brilliant.  That picspam?  Made me laugh harder than Monk and Psych combined.  Gave me more excitement too if you know what I mean, har har har. *wink wink nudge nudge* <--Apparently my pervy laugh wasn't enough, had to pull out the big guns for you.  Speaking of guns...

ZOMG SO HOT SO HOT SO HOT SO HOT!  HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!  I will never tire of posting that photo.  NEVER!  Expect it with every entry from now on.
