smith & jones: HAIR EDITION

 Confession time. I've watched Smith & Jones many more times than someone would probably guess for it being a s3 episode that wasn't Shakespeare Code or Human Nature/Family of Blood.

Why, you ask?

Two reasons:
1) Rose references
2) THAT HAIR MAN. SHIT IS INSANE.

And because it's nearly finals week, any idea of procrastination just sounds like OMG TEH

Also, that is totally his good-day checklist.

And when I was studying for exams, I totally used to make posts like this as study aids. I'm sure you can find some way to work Ten's hair into your studying.

HE COULD WIN IT EVERY YEAR. EXCEPT WITH WHATEVER THAT WAS IN ST2. BECAUSE IT WAS SHORN OFF AND DYED AND I PRACTICALLY CRIED EMO TEARS ABOUT IT.

I know, right? LOL I really should have specified that the checklist was Ten's because I think all of the other Doctors would turn away in shame at some of those points.

Lol despite Nine's PTSD and brooding, I think he would be horrified by emoTen. It would be great.

YOU WATCHED IT FOR PLOT? I guess watching 2 minutes here and there it not a very good way to watch a movie. And I probably should have watched the first one. Because at the end of it, I was convinced those girls were doing something wrong if DT was mad at them. But I loled at the part where they fell into the Thames. OOOH BUT I DID LIKE THAT THEY WERE AT THE GLOBE SINCE I HAD JUST BEEN THERE.

It is one of my goals to either read or write as many fics about other Doctors either talking about or dealing with emoTen.

MS PAINT DRAWINGS ARE CLEARLY TOO SCIENTIFIC FOR ME TO EVEN BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND.

LOL *PATS YOU* St Trinian's is a bit of a British institution, to be fair, so I'm not sure how well parts of it translate without that cultural background. It also helps that I've attended both an all girls school and a boarding school, so it's even more recognisable to me. I DON'T THINK THE MOVIE WAS AIMED AT TENNANT FANS. XD

I WOULD READ THAT FIC. Poor EmoTen. I guess at least Eleven is too ridiculous to be particularly embarrassed by him, although he'd probably try and keep Amy away in case she figured out who it was and mocked him FOREVER.

Yeah, lol, that's what my friend from Scotland told me before making fun of the fact that I only watched it because he was in it. Although the movie did give me that scene where he comes down on the ladder from the helicopter, which made it all worth it.

LOL, it actually reminds me of a fic of yours I read last night - the one with like 4815 versions of Ten in which CRAZY TEN IS CRAZY and Cloen is the voice of reason.

Also, I think that is a very appropriate summation of what Eleven would do. I was watching more s5 today and Eleven is very much the uncool Dad who thinks he's mega-cool and then Amy's the kid that makes fun of him endlessly.

LOL THE HELICOPTER LADDER WAS GREAT. And while he was lacking in hair, he didn't otherwise look terrible and the character was kinda hilarious, so there's that! XD

I totally paid to see ST2 in the cinema, so, yeah... XD

LOL THAT FIC. I AM GLAD MY GREATEST LITERARY ENDEAVOUR YET IS STILL BEING APPRECIATED. Poor Cloen. He doesn't deserve that.

Eleven as the not-cool dad is like, my favourite way to view his character. And River is like the ex-wife who got bored of him and left to have adventures but occasionally pops back to say things like "you know, I think you should let Amy and Rory share a bedroom now they're married".

THAT IS TRUE. And the eyebrow was working overtime to compensate for the lack of hair.

IT IS A MASTERPIECE, OPAL. PURE GENIUS. Although when you kept calling them XYZ Doc, my sleep-deprived brain once thought you were talking about the dwarves in Snow White. IDEK.

I CRAVE CRACKALICOUS INTERACTIONS LIKE THAT.

I just embarrassed myself by laughing for a good two minutes at the comment about River trying to let Amy and Rory share a bedroom. Now I am convinced they have bedtimes that are observed very carefully by Eleven.

LOL AMY WOULD PROBABLY NOT EVEN BELIEVE ELEVEN IF HE TOLD HER STORIES ABOUT TEN AND WHAT HE GOT UP TO.

The Snow White thing was totally intentional, so that's OK. XD ALSO, IT'S A GREAT WAY TO DEAL WITH PRONOUNS AND NAMING ISSUES.

POSSIBLY THERE ARE NIGHT LIGHTS. AND THEY TOTALLY GET GROUNDED IF THEY MAKE NOISE AFTER BED TIME. I think there needs to be more dad-Eleven fic, because it's great. XD

BUT SOMETIMES THE SIDEBURNS ARE MISSING. SUCH AS IN YOUR FAVORITE MINISERIES, SINGLE FATHER. AND THEN THE HAIR WAS BORING TOO. BUT THE EYEBROW NEVER FAILS ME, OPAL. NEVER.

Ack!! Pronoun issues is probably one of the biggest reasons I don't write a lot of the fics I get ideas for because I am much too lazy to sort that stuff out. I wish it was accepted to be canon that they could be referred to as "Ten" or "Cloen" or "Eleven" without the fic being cracky. IDK. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RULE BOOK, UNDER WHICH RULE #1 IS THAT CLOEN IS TO BE REFERRED TO AS "THE DOCTOR" BY ROSE.

Oh, definitely. As a punishment they have to sort through and organize the huge collection of Snow Patrol the TARDIS mysteriously has.

THIS IS TRUE. THE EYEBROWS WOULD PROBABLY WIN IN THE END BY VIRTUE OF DEDICATION TO THE CAUSE.

I've written a few srs bsns multi-Doc fics and man do I ever overuse things like "other Doctor" and "younger Doctor" or whatever, and try to stick with the same PoV. HAPPY DOC AND SAD DOC ARE GREAT ALTERNATIVES TO THIS.

THERE NEEDS TO BE A RULE BOOK, UNDER WHICH RULE #1 IS THAT CLOEN IS TO BE REFERRED TO AS "THE DOCTOR" BY ROSE.

JUST BECAUSE IT NEEDED REPEATING.

LOL I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. The little I have written it's all "younger self" "new Doctor" "human Doctor" "Rose's Doctor" "stiped Doctor" "Doctor in the bow-tie". It's like, writing fic is time consuming enough, but then it's an English class as well? WHAT GIVES.

Can we add that he wears suits at least MOST of the time?

Of course he bought them! IDK if Ten is hipster enough to only care about the ~pure~ SP albums. He's fanboy enough to want all the ~special features~.

SO MUCH DOCTOR CONFUSION. Of course, I end up writing some things with multiple companions, too, so there's also Younger Rose. At least if it's Nine and Ten, Ten can describe Nine as a big-eared Northern pillock or something.

YES ON THE SUITS. I mean, I guess technically there isn't a huge amount of canon evidence about what Cloen is like, but he calls himself the Doctor and he puts on a suit. THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME.

LOL SPECIAL FEATURES. He saves the concert ticket stubs and buys the overpriced tour t shirts, too.

YES. LOL. Man, Eleven trying to srs bsns explain Ten and Cloen would be great. "Well I split in two. One of them - me - was crazy and genocidal. The other settled down and got married."

Ha! I remember back when I was going crazy over JE, and JUST SO CONFUSED, I rewatched just Cloen's bits of that episode to convince myself he was really the Doctor. In hindsight, I hope Cloen regrets putting on that tshirt. That's just weird. BUT WHATEVER HE AND ROSE MAKE OUT SO PRETTILY I DON'T EVEN CARE.

HE GOES BACK IN TIME AND GREETS THEM AT THE STAGE DOOR. AND THEN SCRAPBOOKS. THEN GOES TO MARS. OR HAWAII. OR ELIZABETHAN ENGLAND. WHO KNOWS.

IMAGINE THE LOOKS ROSE WOULD GET.

JE is the most confusing episode ever first time around. BUT HE HAD BETTER BLOODY REGRET THAT SHIRT. He could have... put a regular shirt over it or something. At least even the costumers wanted him to match Rose. XD AND YOU CAN'T SEE THE UNFORTUNATE FASHION CHOICES WHEN THEY ARE SMOOCHING.

Lol all of Snow Patrol try to get restraining orders against "that weird guy who comes to ever concert and keeps telling us we understand each other's pain and offering to burn things for us".

Oh Rose. I don't know how she does it, the crazy woman. XD

OH MY GOSH I KNOW. I WAS SO CONFUSED. I still think the best way to describe it is bittersweet, and now that I've learned to mock Crazy Ten, it's a bit better. It's also better now that he's Eleven and Cloen is the only Ten. AND WHEN THEY ARE SMOOCHING, THEY ARE JUST ONE GIANT BLOB AND THE FASHION CHOICES ARE IRRELEVANT.

LOL, do you watch The Big Bang Theory? One of the characters gets a restraining order from Stan Lee, and treasures it and eventually frames it.
