Everything Ends

That's the theme of the fifth and final season of Six Feet Under. Now I'll admit, this could never be my all-time favourite show. It's too soap opera-ish. Granted, most dramas have that tendancy - but when they start with the seemingly random bed-hopping and dramatic, life-changing events that happen all at once, it just gets to be too much for ( Read more... )

I totally agree with you about the 3rd season. Justin and I had reached a point where we were literally locking ourselves up in my room and watching episode on top of episode of Six Feet Under. We watched the first two seasons in probably two or three weeks. We were hooked. It was the greatest show we had ever seen. And then... and then... Season Three happened.

It was just so disappointing. The show took such a turn that neither of us could stand it anymore. The good news, I guess, was that we got our lives back at that point, but the bad news is that our relationships with the characters came to a very abrupt end and we just can't bring ourselves to renew them.

I'm glad you made it all the way through though, and I'm glad to hear that it picked up by the end. Maybe I'll start from the beginning and watch it all the way through one of these days.

I think it would be worth it to pick it up again and finish it. I was like that with the first two seasons too, just gave up any semblance of a life to find out about these character's lives. It was such a gradual descent in Season 3 that it took me awhile to become outraged at everyone. But Season 4 started it back up again - it took awhile in a few spots - and then it just kept going up and up again. I don't think anything could be as great as the first 2 seasons...I really loved the second season. Do give it a shot - it's worth it for that final episode.
