lol it'd ping harder if he knew who Naoya was. xDfirst_scornedJune 29 2010, 18:08:08 UTC
Simple curiosity; although I cannot establish the exact differences, I wish to learn of them. After all, demons from my world seem to be quite different than the ones we have here... it's really rather interesting.
[ Mm, you're a new arrival aren't you? ] Whatever IS truly going on, my original theory that this coral either is some point for a demon or is one... and that it's using these faeries as an extension of it's sight still stands. I believe they're a tool for it's senses--wherever it's being kept, I think that coral is it's power source.
Well, where I'm from there are quite a few things that you could call demons. Specifically, anything paranormal is called an oddity, and among those are some demons. The most powerful of these oddities are the vampires, but there are a ton of them. I've actually been dealing with quite a few oddities before I got here...
Huh, I didn't even think of the connection between the coral and the faeries. Suddenly this thing seems a lot more stalkerish.
haha if only he could summon a demon. EVEN A FROST WOULD DO :cfirst_scornedJune 30 2010, 00:26:55 UTC
How interesting. Well, there ARE vampiric demons--quite common for humans to mistake vampires for improper decomposition in the older days, though. However, I was fairly sure they did not exist until I met one here...
[ The most annoying one of them all. ] There really isn't much other reason I can think of why a living organism would be completely silent like these faeries. It's quite a pain--I can't see them as being simply a separator for who is and isn't native here. If they want that, the markings would suffice. It makes far more sense if they're being used for something else.
Oh, there's a vampire here? [Could it be Shinobu? No, he'd definitely know if she was here already] I hope they don't start stirring up trouble, I definitely couldn't deal with a vampire right now.
They could always just be mute, you know. But still, their presence does seem strange. I hadn't noticed until now that only outsiders had them... Seems like this is another key to solving this place.
Or a Mothman at least. Mothyyy ;~;first_scornedJune 30 2010, 01:57:22 UTC
... Rachel Alucard. Believe me, the only thing she 'stirs up' besides a cup of Earl Gray is my patience.
[ Sigh. He really hates you Rachel. ] No, I'm quite sure that isn't the case. There's probably a reason they can't speak. Not to mention they don't react to anything, no matter how much you bother them, and they never leave from you. We're always in their sight. It only makes sense that you think of them that way, after all.
She detests blood, actually. I wouldn't call her harmless... if you anger her, you're likely to be electrocuted to death. Or perhaps worse.
[ A chuckle. ] It is unsettling, but either way, we're stuck with them. Believe me, I have tried every conceivable way to get rid of them... nothing works.
I'd take electrocution over some of the things I have to deal with... [Read: SENJOUGAHARA]
So not only have I been thrust into an oddity, I also got a stalker to go along with it. [He sighs] Well, thanks for your help...come to think of it, I don't even know who you are.
[ An absent smirk, and flick, video is on. A man as pale as a ghost with ashen white hair, and ghostly red eyes to match (clearly he is either a vampire himself or has albinism, probably the latter) wearing a pair of glasses watches from his end, amused. ]
Then again, to trust anything in a place where you've been kidnapped and aren't even being told why would be foolish.
[ An amused smirk at his own private joke, since he isn't really Japanese. Somehow, when Naoya uses honorifics, it's anything but respectful. He just has that effect. ]
You can't simply place trust in anyone. It would be wise to remember people here are unlikely to even be from the same reality as you, let alone Japan.
That may be true, but it'll be hard to get around in an unknown place if you can't put trust in anyone. And aren't you trusting us by asking us about demons?
... Hah, me? Simply because I make a broadcast out of curiosity doesn't mean I suddenly trust anyone here. Not in the least. I'm alleviating boredom, and it changes nothing for me if people do or do not know much about the particular subjects regarding magic or the demonic.
[ He chuckles. ] After all, it's a commonplace occurrence in my world currently that demons are running amok in the streets of Tokyo. Why should I even be mildly concerned about that? It isn't as though anyone else knowing this affects me, after all.
I honestly couldn't care less whether or not people trust me, nor their opinion of me. I don't cling to foolish ideals such as trust, because in the end, everything is a means to an end... and you cannot count on people to do everything for you. But it is as you say; it would be hard to get around here otherwise, but that doesn't mean I'd be stupid enough to put such blind faith in people. If they are of use to me, I would logically consider putting some form of faith in a person--hoping, perhaps, they are competent
( ... )
[Araragi laughs a bit] Maaan, if I ever made a speech like that to anyone from back home, they would be on me for sounding so lonely. It'll hurt quite a bit in the end if you can't trust anyone, Naoya-san.
Clearly the people you know are foolish children blinded by their emotions. I'm perfectly content where I am; and I never said I do not keep company. I keep useful company. But if people are not of use to me, then it's merely a waste of time.
[ Since, you know, he doesn't care about anyone but himself and Hiroki. ]
I really prefer not to waste my time. Though, as it is, we have enough of it to spare here.
I came to the same conclusion about the coral and barrier, myself. Whatever that coral really is, it definitely plays a huge part in this oddity.

Yeah, that is kind of weird. And unnerving. I...kind of don't want this thing to be near me anymore. [Araragi pokes at the fairy]

[And on this end of the video, a high schooler stood, with black hair that covered one eye and one conspicuous part stood up.]
That's true, though the other people who have been kidnapped seem trustworthy. They gave me a lot of info on this place and helped me settle in.
