Theres no hard proof that Magdalene was married to Jesus, but then theres no proof he wasnt, and it is subtly hinted at quite often. (BTW the Da Vinci Code is a lot of crap, well most, so i wouldnt trust it) But why would Jesus being married be viewed as a bad thing? Does it make him un-pure? Or show that he loves one over all, when he is supposeed to love everyone equally???? Personally I think the whole Jesus story is bullshit, fair enough there was a guy who was kind and generous, but being able to walk on water? Trun water into wine?? No way, iv never believed in God, but have turned to him during a hard time, which i found strange then and still do today. God is merely a support for the weak in my view..a man turned into a myth by the hands of people who needed something to believe in when their time comes. Im sure at one point everyone has cursed God..most of us without realizing, he has became part of our life so much that he is hardly noticed by those outside his churched and groupings. ((We all say "for Gods Sake!" but never even think of what we're sayin dont we)) He is part of life, but his following is not as huge as it once was, in a few generations time maybe Christianity will be viewed as a myth again..People are now seeing more and more of this religion, and liking less and less of it..
There was hard proof that Mary Magdalene was one of the disciples and that Jesus treated her somewhat "special". Those scrolls are real and I havent read the Da Vinci Code and therefor, don't know the whole concept behind that. I'm with you with the whole walking on water, distorted stories passed down. Fan fiction, like i said before. I've never actually believed in God either but he's a big comfort blanket that people want to believe in and want to believe he is there to listen, because people seek comfort in others. I don't think believing in God makes you are weak and I don't think Christianity will die out anytime soon, if at all. There are still millions of people who are devoted to Christianity and you can't say that people are liking it less and less...maybe that's just the way you feel about it.
With the introduction of science, it has created a big doubt in Christianity yet people still wholly believe in Christianity and God.
But can it EVER DIE OUT?
