Let me be the first person on my friends list to say "I just got back from watching Underworld". So there! HA!
I knew the time difference would be good for something ONE DAY ;)
So what were my thoughts of the movie? Almost as good as the previews make it look. Almost as good as the matrix, though with rather less meat to it I think, and less questions at the end. But all around a very good movie, and worth the money to go and see it.
I think I'll leave it at that so as not to spoil it for anyone else. I know how fucking annoying it can be to go in with pre-conceived ideas about a movie.
In other news, I have spent a fuck of a lot of money this month. Since buying my new car stereo and consequently new tires for the front of my car, I have also had to have my eyes tested, resulting in two new pairs of glasses (plain and sun-tinted. Two for one offer at Spec-Savers) which cost me over £150! I have also booked my appointment for my drivers test in a manual (again) which cost me another £35 or so. Needless to say my bank account is in something of a state. Good thing that his month I get two paychecks! I really hope I get a decent one from my last job. If I do, I should still wind up in the positive and may end up paying off more of my loan this month, which would be good. Still have about £1000 out on it afterall.
Those of you who know me will probably know that I have had a large mole right at the edge of my hairline for most of my life. Well, I finally got around to going to a doctor to have it removed. It's really fucking annoying having a mole of that size, especially at your hairline. Entirely apart from the appearance factor, I kept catching it on things.
The number of times I've had it cut by accident by hair dressers getting a little over zealous with their combs, or caught it myself while hurriedly brushing my hair. I finally got totally fed up with the damned thing about a month ago. To the point that I tried to cut it off myself. In actual fact I tried cutting it off using little more than my nails, and I nearly succeeded. In the end, though, I gave up when I realized that my nails weren't sharp enough to completely sever it. At that point I tried using a broken razor blade, but it was too hard to hold and I lost my nerve. Ironically, one of the first things I tried doing is what the doctor eventually did, tying it off with a piece of cotton. I tried that, pulled the cotton really tight, hoping it would cut into the flesh, but no such luck. I just didn't think of tying it off and letting the flesh of the mole die and fall off on it's own, which is what the doctor did.
So finally, as of today I have no mole on my forehead, and it's a very nice feeling (even if I do still have a bit of an open cut where the mole was). Apparently, once it all heals, I should have no scar, which is good.
Hopefully I'll be adding an extra notch to my self-confidence. It's been something I've been bothered by for most of my life, as you can imagine.
So now I'm mole-less and have glasses. Quite a change in appearance for one day, wouldn't you say?
And yes, there will be pictures up one of these days... Though I may wait until it's healed first...
