More Dublin madness

Mar 20, 2007 18:10

Went around the city yesterday snapping pics for my parents. Here are more sights of Dublin!

From the LUAS at St. Stephen's Green, you'll see Grafton St. right in front of you. It's Dublin's poshest shopping street with street performers on good days.

In a small turnoff, you'll find Suffolk St. and Nude cafe that has the best chocolate muffins X3
(The shop with the lime green sign.)

The road then leads you down to College Green,

where Trinity College

and the Bank of Ireland face each other.

Inside Trinity:

The front arch and historic wooden gate

that leads to front square

The campanile up ahead is supposed to be off limits to undergrads... if they want to pass their exams! 8DD

Walking from the front to the back of college, you pass the Berkeley library (the big Arts faculties library)

After that, you will come to a road between the rugby field and College Green (seagulls love the field in the morning). Since it's spring, I found 2 blooming sakura trees there! *_*

The Pav(illion Bar) is the only bar on campus XP The yellow building at the end of the Green.

As you head into the Science part of the college, you will see the big complex of stone buildings housing the Zoology, Physics, Physiology and Anatomy (aka chamber of DEATH (TM)) departments.

Then the next big thing, the Hamilton, where all the science people hang out... because the library is there XD

And if you exit college through the Lincoln Place gate, you'll come to the Dublin Dental School and Hospital! X3

The front entrance to Nassau St.:

Then on to O'Connell St:

Here you can find the Dublin Spire (the tall shiny spike),

the Dublin Post Office, shopping,

(Look a mannequin with REAL proportions! 8D)

(For all the cheap stuff!!)

Eddie Rocket's Diner,

(Love their milkshakes, garlic fries and dessert!)

the Heineken and Bailey's buildings,

and the O'Connell Bridge (lookie, the yellow Dublin buses 8D)

across the River Liffey.

If you cross over back to the TCD side, you can go to Temple Bar

where all the clubs and pubs are.

I also got some garda (police) at Henry St.

Anyway, I'm off to Galway in the west of Ireland tomorrow X3 I'll be back on Friday evening.

dublin, galway, holiday, trinity college
