It was a few days after the young soldier had gone back through the rift.
‘It seems silly that I miss him already. I only knew him for a few days but I liked him, you know?
Tosh’s brown eyes locked with his.
'You still miss Diane, don’t you?’
Owen concentrated on his drink, saw his lovers face in the swirling depths.
There was a long pause before he spoke.
‘Tommy was a lucky man, Tosh. For the last five days of his life, every time he woke up he saw you.’
