Comcast OnDemand has Dora. And Diego. And Blue's Clues. All Mia's favorites. I never have to watch that stupid ass Yo Gabba Gabba again. I really hate that show. She's currently watching the Dora Halloween show, and I wish I could curl up and take a nap on the couch. I could probably try, but she has a penchant for poking us in the eye or beating us over the head when we lay down.
I got a good bit of wedding stuff done last night, booking the hotel, writing out thank you cards, packaging up gifts for my bridesmaids, and a few other minor things, like sweeping my filthy kitchen floor. The biggest was getting my vows written... I'm so glad to have that off my shoulders. The stress had clearly caught up with me when I had a nightmare that I forgot to take my vows to the wedding, that people wouldn't sit down and shut up so that I could come down the aisle, and the whole ceremony was a disaster.
6 Days. I only have to make it 6 more days.
I got up with Mia this morning and she was an unholy terror. Ed heard "no no!" so often that he got up and came down to find out why on earth she was being such trouble. It wasn't anything major, but she was into everything that she knows she's not allowed in. I was at my wit's end. She's settled down considerably, though... probably thanks to Dora on the TV. At this point, I'll take whatever works.
Ed's going to be a bit of a ghost for the next few days. He's had a serious deadline for work pop up and it's going to require that he and the rest of the team work their asses off all weekend. The deadline is Tuesday. I know he's doing his job, and I don't fault him for it, but it's all rather crappy timing for our household. I hope they're able to meet the deadline, though, because it's a step in the right direction and moves us all a little further away from possible doom.
He is going to make a point to take the evening off today so that we can go out to dinner (I think we're going for hibatchi!), he'll put Mia down, and then he's going to help me with the tissue paper pomanders for a bit before he returns back to work. He did the same last night - spent a couple of hours with us in the evening once I brought Mia home, put her to bed, and sat with me for a bit before returning to work. He's making sure we don't feel forgotten, and I love him for it.
The tissue paper pomanders, speaking of that, aren't going to be nearly as labor-intensive as I was expecting, all because I'm scaling them back to much smaller versions than the inspiration I'm using. Ed and I have a pretty good system started and he's been a great help already. It's nice to have a groom who's willing to give a hand, since I often read about ones who just want nothing to do with it all.
I can't believe it's all coming together, finally. I felt like it would never get to this point.
I'm going to let Mia watch Dora until naptime, and once she's down, I'll probably take a nap myself. Maybe get some more tissue paper junk done. Once she's up we need to make a petstore run and go out to dinner, come home for evening family time, bedtime for Mia, and then wedding stuff with Ed until he has to get back to work. I'm going to try and get some cleaning done tonight once he's back in his office... my house needs it.
Ed's going to take care of Mia while I go to church tomorrow morning, and then I'll take her down to my Mom's for most of the day. It'll give him plenty of time to work without feeling bad that Mia and I are upstairs without him, and Mom, Toni and I will get a ton of wedding stuff accomplished. I expect I'll have Mia home for bedtime, Ed will take care of that, and then he and I will have a little time together before, yet again, he goes back to work.
I don't expect we'll see him on Monday... it sounds like it's likely he'll be in the office very late that night, certainly well after Mia's down and probably after I'm asleep as well. With luck they'll meet their deadline and Tuesday will bring a slight bit of relief. I hope.
