I'm so glad this week is over. Even with staying home sick two days, it was a long week.
I went to the library after work to finally return Work Wifey's book, two days late. Oops. $.40 in late fees. Thank goodness they aren't pricey.
While there I picked up Goodnight Nobody, Jennifer Weiner; Chasing Harry Winston, Lauren Weisberger; To Have and To Hold, Jane Green (I may've read this already, I'm not sure); Queen of Babble in the Big City, Meg Cabot. I also got The Nanny Diaries and Shall We Dance? on DVD. I think I'm set for a rainy weekend.
I brought all my stuff home and got a bug up my butt to clean the living room bookshelves, which were rather disheveled. I finally got the DVDs we took to Myrtle Beach put back in their cases, and organized all of the DVD cases in alphabetical order. I took out the trash and unloaded the dishwasher, and by the time I was done, it was time to go get Mia.
She's a whiny little psycho monkey tonight. She's climbing on everything, getting into everything, and working my last nerve. Ed just got home 10 minutes ago, so he's taking over for a little bit. 15 minutes to bedtime.
This weekend is plans-free. Standard chores, grocery shopping, and bonus, trips to Michael's (to finally get a frame for one of my
drjeff prints!) and Children's Place to get Mia some fall/winter clothes.
Ah, domesticity. How you've made me mundane.
ETA: And, since Ed's been requesting chocolate cake lately, and always on weeknights when I really don't feel like baking, I'm going to finally make him the cake he's requesting. Chocolate cake with orange frosting between the layers and chocolate frosting outside - his grandmother used to make something similar. I'm going to "fancy" it up a bit with a bittersweet ganache outside to balance out the sweet orange inside.
