Wow. Don't go to Pomona Valley

Jun 05, 2006 22:13

So, today I received a bill in the mail from Pomona Valley Hospital, for the whole emergency room incident. It indicated that I owed rather a large amount of money on my hospital bill, as my insurance claim had been rejected. Of course, I was expecting this from the moment I looked at the envelope. Want to know why?

The letter was addressed to "Bonnie Richardson"

Of course, Blue Cross Blue Shield had no record of such a person. For those who do not know, Bonnie is my middle name. Somehow I managed to walk into the hospital with a ID holder containing my driver's license, school ID, credit card, five assorted insurance cards, my American Red Cross blood donor card, seven or eight medical certification cards, and my social security card, all with my name blazoned across them. True, I was initially having a bit of trouble speaking, but, I had my wonderful boyfriend with me who, after eight months of dating me, certainly knew my damn first name. Yet somehow the billing department managed to conclude that my name was "Bonnie."

Yes, I am perplexed.

drama, general nonsense
