Well I feel really stupid now. I've had this paid account with Livejournal now for 2 years and I've updated less than ten times. I'm tempted to say that I'm going to update more frequently now but I've said that several times already and everytime I've forgotten to do it.
School has finally settled into a good pattern (Well as good as it can get considering my classes are really boring.) and my work hours are really good. I am done with school and work every night by 6 which is really nice because I'm addicted to Supernatural, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. I used to miss all of my shows because I had to work at night so it's really nice to be able to be finished with everything at a decent hour.
Anyone who knows me and is reading this will be shocked to learn that I switched majors to Secondary Edu this summer. I never thought of myself as a teacher but it sounds fun so we'll see.
I love my job. I'm at work right now and I have to say that beyond the boringness that pervades this place, the people make it very interesting to work here. If someone walked into this building without knowing what it was they wouldn't believe it's a library. Yes, there's books everywhere but there are also groups of people talking and yelling down the stair well at each other and people chewing tobacco and spitting sunflower seed shells everywhere (I live in the rural South). When I first got here it looked so proper and serious, Yeah Right. I've been in public libraries that have been more proper than this Uni library.
I'm reading this really interesting book right now. It's called What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality. It was recommended to me by a friend of mine who thought I would agree with what was being written. I'm about half-way through right now and I have to say that the author brings up some interesting points. He talks a lot about how you have to read the Bible from a historical context point of view rather than the fundamentalist straight forward way. I'm already planning on how to use this book the next time my grandmother wants to debate the rightness of gays and lesbians.
My nephew's birthday was last Friday. I've been a bad aunt; I bought a present and then forgot to call on his birthday and I forgot to actually put his present in the post. It's finally getting sent off today and I guess he won't really care because it's still a present but I still feel like a bad auntie. My niece's birthday is this Friday, hopefully I'll actually remember to send her gift to her before her birthday.
I'm going to go now and not even bother saying when I'll update next, it could be later today or it could be 3-4 months from now. If I don't see you again "Good afternoon, good evening and good night."
