Okay, I'll redily admit that I am not one of the most politically-minded people out there. Hell, I rarely know what's going on in Canadian politics other than the basics, let alone in international politics. There are, however, a few things about what's going on with the US government that's puzzling me. For example:
Bush claims that he veto'd the bill for stem cell research, claiming that his main reason for it was to protect the unborn children of the future. Now, this statement alone, I don't have a problem with. I mean, it seems like a fairly valid standpoint to me. What I have a problem with, though, is that this is the same man who, after having said "We need to give our children a better education system", cuts funding to public schools. If he's so concerned with the children and their future, wouldn't it make more sense to better their chances at having a decent future, rather than worsening them?
