A Parable of My Lesson

Jul 13, 2009 21:19

There once was a man who thought the world was a very angry place. He thought this because he saw scowling faces everywhere. Every window he passed on the street held a scowling face. Every car, every house, another scowl stared back at him. He always wondered why so many scowls should fall on him. Other people seemed happy enough and seemed to have many smiles reflected back to them, but not this man. Scowls day and night were all he saw.

One day, as he was complaining of his sad predicament to a friend, the friend interrupted him and said, "the scowls you see are reflections of your own face. The world does not show you anger, you show anger to the world and it reflects it back to you. Smile, and the world shall reflect you happiness in due time."

Thank you Robert.
