Pregnancy update - 24 weeks

Oh, and by the way.... I am not sick anymore. I am 24 weeks, and I FINALLY stopped throwing up all my food just in the last three weeks. It was brutal. I was only 125lbs (at 5'7") three weeks ago, and I had no belly AT ALL. I was SKINNY. But now, a short three weeks (and three meals per day) later, I am 135lbs and I look somewhat pregnant. Somewhat.

It feels amazing not to be sick. I just love life. I have been housebound for about three months. This sickness got really bad just after Christmas and I quit all my volunteer work (actually, Brian took over for me at Awana and provided child care during all my nursery shifts at church) and all my groups. I even cancelled my weekly playdate with my friend Liz -- who, btw, has twelve children from mid-thirties down to five years old. She is amazing, and I sorely missed her. And now that I'm suddenly moving, I feel really cheated out of these last three months of visits with her. But I couldn't do anything. I just stepped out of everything. For the three weeks that Brian was away for work, my mother came up to take over with my children, and we actually got along. I was too sick and too grateful to be churlish, I guess.

But now I'm better. I am back doing everything, and as churlish as ever.

Although, my body keeps giving me signs that this should probably be my last pregnancy. Like, I see double once in a while, particularly if I'm tired. It feels like my right eye is suddenly moving its focus to one side uncontrollably, but when I look in the mirror, my eyes look fine (if a bit dilated). If I cover either eye, the other eye can see fine, but with both uncovered, I am seeing double. It is crazy. But it only lasts about 15 minutes at a time.

And when I get up and walk around, or even if I sit down but talk too much, I get out of breath, and I can hear my pulse beating in my ears. It's an awful feeling, woosh -- woosh -- woosh -- woosh.

But, aside from this, I am doing well, and soo soo soo happy to not be puking.
