Hematochezia
Have you ever come across this word? I had not. I know that 'hema' means blood, though. So when our cat Hobbs had a horrifying bloodred puddle on top of his crap, I checked online. Could be anything. Could be parasites, but could also be cancer. This is a young boy (about a year old cat). I hope it's not cancer.
The irony of this is that I made an appointment at the vet's for him earlier today. He has some kind of rash on his face. Now I think that rash is nothing to worry about, ha.
So here's what we'll have to do: 1. take cat to vet on Oct. 6 and have a stool sample taken
2. have rash examined
3. have bloodwork done
4. pay another hefty vet bill
5. worry bigtime about this cat
Of course I have a broken tooth and two dentals coming up first. Isn't life just great????
