I hate PETA (aka another rant)

I hate how they go on about calling themselves "animal rights' activists" when they do stuff like that link talks about and when their actual goal is that there be no more domestication of animals ever at all. Probably more than 3/4 of the people I know have some kind of pet, and probably everyone that I have known has eaten a hamburger or an egg or drunk milk or worn leather shoes (yes, all these things come from the domestic animals PETA wants to get rid of) at some point.
AND they're actually getting laws passed! e.g. right now in California there's a bill that has already passed their House that requires all animals over 4 mos. of age to be spayed/neutered - the logic, of course, being that there are lots of animals in shelters that are getting put down and that there will always be plenty of pets because of feral animals that shelters pick up - but already, unhealthier dogs are getting imported from Mexico. This is not a responsible way to get a pet! People talk about how "mutts have fewer health problems than purebreds" but that's not strictly true. You have no idea where those mutts came from, what might be in their bloodlines. A responsible purebred breeder tests for health problems that are prevalent in the breed, and if there's a problem, those dogs don't get bred. Thus you actually end up with a healthier puppy than the mutt you pick up at a shelter. But I digress.
So if you didn't already, go and check out that website and sign their petition.
