Someone (I'm not going into the context because it doesn't really matter) commented the other day that he expected that a girl he knew wanted to have sex with him because she was on the Pill

If you (or if not you, at least most people) see Prozac in someone's medicine cabinet, you'd probably assume they were depressed, not that they were taking it to lose weight (which people do). Guys don't know ANYTHING about how periods work, so it makes sense that he'd assume it was for contraception.

Also, understand that guys out for sex (i.e. guys) play the odds. If a girl is on the pill it increases the likelihood (not for all girls, but on average) that she'd have sex with someone. You don't like that guys think of girls in terms of the odds of getting to sleep with them - fine. But sex is an important part of life, and it can be difficult for a lot of guys to fulfill their sexual needs, so they do what they can to increase the odds. If women really wanted to encourage less base behavior they should stop rewarding it and only sleep with guys who are more evolved in their thinking. But they don't. So please, and with all due respect, take a look around and take note of the larger picture. Women are in no way better or more logical than men in their sexual relationships. We are, all of us, highly absurd creatures.
