The store we had planned on buying our kitchen cabinets from had this huge sale for 50% off the normal price a couple weeks ago - well, still going on actually- and so I splurged and bought most of our new cabinets. Turns out we only have 10 cabinets in our kitchen. So tiny! Anyway, the cabinets come with "assemble needed" and arrived in flat boxes. So they are sitting in dining room and I'm starting to get more restless about re-doing the room. It looks like the orginal hardwood is underneath the laminate floor, in which case that would be awesome since no need to tile the floor - just peel up and sand the floor. whoot! So I'm trying to convince Jerry that this project should only take a couple weeks. right? one cabinet in, one cabinet out than paint all other. Then, order and have the countertops installed, put in backsplashes (finally!) and ta-da! new kitchen!
My garden, while recovering from its tramatic mow down from earlier this summer, seems to be in shape to have a revival next spring. I'm getting from rock, or brick, to line the area and then getting an iron little fence to go all round and really make sure people realize its a flower garden and not a random dirt patch. All in time for the fall and winter sleep.
