Taking a direction away from NYC.. I have really been thinking about what is, and has been going on in my life and the life of my friedns.. LOVE is one of the major poinrts that come up.... I really think that people take love for granted and sometimes even I.. I am going to do my best to stop this and tell the most important people that I love them more...
One question that always comes up is "What is love?" Well for me...
love means giving unconditionally. Everyone wants to be in love, just because you love someone doesnt mean they necessary owe you anything. Loving someone for me means wanting the best for them. There is no such thing as right or wrong when it comes to how relationship should be. People often have a pretense of what makes a good relationship, unforunately everyone has different expectations. Being in love means trying to understand what your partner wants regardless of how you feel about the issue. Its about compromise if you think their ideas are whacked...then its the wrong relationship. Being in love for me also means being completely honest with what you want even if it runs the risk of spoiling a good relationship. For example if you cant commit to a relationship dont lie to the other person about it, because if you re honest and upfront then the other person has to decide if they can handle it or not. Being in love also means being able to let go of your fears and insecurites. CONTROL is not love. Being in love also means standing up for yourself, if you find yourself spending too much money or giving up too much time for the other person and you begin to resent then for it...you have to draw the line and say no....
You give your time and money because you want to make them happy NOT because you expect anything in return for it...Giving in a relationship is selfish not unselfish. If you give someone a nice diamond ring you do it because you enjoy the glee in their face not because you expect them to compromise to something you want. Anyway its what it means to me...
that's about it.. I think i'm actually gonna go out with friends tonight wooooo love the nightlife here in nyc.
