Something of a post...

I think I'll just put some short things in here...

End of spring semester:
PSYC 331: A
EHS 311: A
LRC 101: A
EHS 360: B

Three As and one B. First ever in college career. Fucking right!!
I'm so happy with myself after that. Seemed like it couldn't get any better.

Except that yesterday at work, I had my first CPR save.
I've never felt that great before in my entire life.
One of the nurses said that if she ever needed CPR, she wants either myself or one of my coworkers (Mike) to do it.
I was getting congratulations, high-fives and pats on the back. I actually managed to get the patient's heart rate into the high eighties. Then, when they were doing the central line (they being the surgeon and resident), she bradyed (sp?) down again (for those that don't know what bradycardia is...slow heart rate) to about 35 and we lost her. But damn, I got her back for another 26 minutes after she had coded. That felt so good.
Yeah, she was given drugs to help get her back, but those drugs would not have circulated if I hadn't been doing CPR. Hot damn.

I have a lot of reasons to celebrate.

My parents are proud (OMG!!) of my grades and of my CPR save. I'm proud too. Things are going so well...ahhhhh....I actually feel so amazing. I can't really explain it, but it seems like most of the things that have been bad are starting to change. For example, I have had about 11 codes in my career as an EMT/tech. My first call as an EMT was a code. Finally, after 6 years and 10 unsuccessful codes, I get a save.

As far as the summer goes, I'll be taking two classes in the first session and two in the second, as well as working and hopefully putting in time down at Dentsville. Right now I'm taking one psych course and stat 121, and then I'll be taking Contemporary Developments in Literature & Culture and billiards.

Time to head home and do something productive. I have to present my research findings tomorrow morning at 10, so I'll be here early tomorrow to compile everything together for analysis and correlation.

Oh yeah...Jon's living with me until Saturday...then I'm helping him move into Walker.

Life is great.
