New critter
So I finally caved and got a betta last night. He has this neat triangular 1-gal tank, with a fin-safe filter. Unfortunately, he also has some kind of fungus that has rapidly spread all over him, probably because I didn't transition him slowly enough and overstressed him. The water he was in just seemed so disgusting, though, I couldn't bear to either leave him in it or add it to the tank water.
I'm hoping he'll pull out of it, but he's kind of listless and not eating. Ah well, Li'l Dude, (yes, that has become his name), if nothing else, you'll have had a better home for your last days. I knew you didn't look terribly healthy when I saw you in the store, but hoped I could help you get better. Well, I still do, though it's looking less likely.
Considering that when I went back to Walmart for fungus treatment drops today there was a whole new shipment of bettas on the shelves, care to bet whether he'd have just been flushed?
