Discontinuation Syndrome aka Withdrawal

Mar 14, 2009 23:04

Thanks to all for the hugs and support and suggestions. I've added a liver cleanse tincture to the large quantities of water. Not quite the combo I'd had in mind, but it's resulted in far more trips to the bathroom than water alone, which I take as a hopeful sign. I felt a bit better when I first got up yesterday, but actually getting up and moving put paid to that. So the fact I feel a bit better now, while encouraging, I'm not going to jump up and down over until I see if it lasts. I do find it somewhat amusing to be using a shot glass to mix up my liver cleanse stuff with water to toss back though. *g*

Definitely can't wait to get a bit more into pharmacology. Perhaps then I'll understand how "half-life of 11 hours" can coexist with "45% excreted unchanged by the kidneys after 72 hours." *boggles* And while the liver seems to be where most remaining bits would be left, it's also hard to know how much of the "discontinuation syndrome" is due to bits of the Pristiq and its metabolites left in my system and how much is my nerves (particularly cranial nerves, it seems, as blinking is very highly correlated to the "electric shock" feelings) just reacclimating to not having their reuptake processes tinkered with.

Ah well. Time to shower and get ready for work. I watched all my BSG eps last night (and wow, what a bunch of 0.0 moments!) and mailed the DVDs back to Netflix this morning, so once work-work is done, and at least a bit of homework, maybe I can finally get some writing done. *crosses fingers*
