These are all important things to have taken care of before you end up getting hit by someone who should not have been on the road in the first place and your family ends up fractured trying to deal with treatment decisions. One of my coworkers is in the middle of just such a mess now. It's horrible enough to have a family member so badly hurt without the drama that can ensue over who makes the decisions.
The time to have a lawyer deal with this stuff is while you're conscious and healthy, not when it's your children versus your siblings.
I've intended to get this stuff done for ages but never quite got to it. No more procrastinating.
